Do you suffer with a bloated belly?

One of the causes can be dehydration which impacts on our gut health

When we don’t drink enough fluid it can impact on our digestive juices which inhibits our digestion.

Not helpful especially as when in our peri-menopause years – we produce less stomach acid as we age so we need to support our digestive system.

Drinking a glass of water half an hour before eating (and not during our meal) can help if you suffer with reflux or bloating.

What about overall weight gain?

Feelings of thirst can be confused with hunger. So before you reach for something to eat – drink a glass of water instead. This helps us rehydrate and also supresses hunger signals.

Here is a smoothie recipe that you can use to help with the digestive system and also hydration levels.

Making a green smoothie which includes foods containing digestive enzymes can be really helpful to support your digestive system.

Here’s an idea for you from Super SImple Smoothies:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/4 cup papaya
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lime juice

Do let me know if you try it.
